our work is not done

let's keep getting better

I ran for mayor in 2014 because I grew up here and believed we could do more to make Whitby and Brooklin a place we all love to call home. Four years later, we have more local jobs and investment, safer streets, a growing economy and smarter growth for our historic downtowns.

As the leader of a town in transformation I want to ensure that we realize all the promise of a bright future while maintaining the small town feel we all value.

From our downtowns to our neighbourhoods to our trails, parks and beautiful waterfront we must ensure that our town remains the community of choice for residents of all ages and becomes the destination of choice for visitors from across the GTA.

I ask for your support and the opportunity to lead the new council team that will build a better town and a brighter future.

Let's keep getting better - together.

The Plan

Live

We must continue to prioritize neighbourhoods that are walkable, bikeable and provide a range of housing options for families, young professionals, seniors - anyone who wants to call Whitby home.

Continued investment in both rapid, affordable public transit and our active transportation network is critical.   I will continue to push for removal of tolls on the 412 and a reduction of 407 tolls to increase usage and ease congestion on Regional roads and keep Whitby moving.

Work

Local jobs are a priority.  My focus is to continue to grow our Innovation District and to work with the Province to capitalize on available employment lands west of Highway 412.

We must capitalize on our success in bringing major attractions like iFly, Reptilia, Le Nordik Spa and Playdium East to Whitby in order to develop our Tourism sector.

Play

We have two historic downtowns and I am determined to make them the social and cultural hearts of our community - places for people to eat, drink, shop and explore.

I am committed to the continued stewardship of parks, trails, conservation areas and other green spaces and the smart, sustainable development of our waterfront.
